"The Princess And The Queen" Review :

Episode 6 of House of the Dragon is starting 10 years in the future. At Trademark HOTD Fashion, we are moving into much darker times. An older Rainya is in labor, sweating profusely and trying to get her babe out. After some shouting and pushing (not to mention a loud sound in the background) she gives birth to a tiny baby boy. Ranira is immediately thrown out of the blissful state of holding her child, as the queen demands to see the child. This is a cruel order, especially coming soon after his birth. Rainera is a tough cookie and, despite being weak and blood dripping on the floor, after barely pulling the placenta out, she walks up the stairs.

Lenore is there and he joins her as they are overtaken by Lord Caswell and several other figures in power. Alicent is shocked to see Rainera, while Viserys, even more surprisingly, is still alive. Although he is now much older and holds his grandson for the first time. It's good to see Viserys and Raenyra reunite but there's definitely trouble in heaven.

Rainera has just given birth to her third child, and she has two other boys back home with different dark hair. Not very like Targaryen or Valerian! Alicent whispers in Lenore's ear, telling her that she will eventually have a son who "looks like her", which is clearly a dig at his skin color and a dig at Rainera's "dining partners".

Meanwhile, tensions escalate between Rainera and Lenore when the latter hastily summons his son Joffrey to the King and Queen, a nod to his late lover, who died at the hands of Kristen Cole in the previous episode. was. Rainyara is not happy that she was not consulted on the name. For A Alicent, the ruthless queen has apparently made it out to Rainera, but simultaneously keeps on pretending to be a citizen. But that ship had left long ago.

As for Rainera's other children, they were brought to the Dragon Pit to tame the dragons there. It appears that each dragon is tied to its master, with the young green dragon in the arena, Vermax, tied to Jacaris, Rainera's eldest son and the man to inherit the throne.

However they are not alone there. There is also a pre-teen Aegon, along with his younger sister Helena and brother Amond. Aegon is not taken seriously and the children whisper that they have a dragon ready and ready for him. It's a pig with wings that, when detected, gives air to Alisant. After catching him in her room in the middle of a masturbation sometime later, she takes Aegon aside, demanding that he take it seriously. "One day you will be king."

Speaking of dragons, Damon and Laena Valerian get along like a house on fire. Together they ride dragons, they are married and Damon is respected by Valyrian after burning down a rival fleet. In Pantos, one of the free towns, Damon is offered to live with Lana and her children (Raina and Bella). Damon takes this seriously, but petting isn't on the table, especially after everything that happens later.

At King's Landing, a sparring session in the yard goes horribly wrong. Temperament of nature Arrogant Egon demonstrates his skills to the other children while Kristen and Harvin give separate instructions. Kristen makes sly remarks to Harwin about Rainera's upbringing. It gets under Harvin's skin and he immediately kills Kristen, something that sees him expelled from City Watch.

Rainera can sense the tension between her and Alicent, not to mention whispers across the country about the true father of her children. She brings these concerns to the council in an attempt to keep the peace.

In particular, she suggests that her son, Jacarius, be married to Helena, daughter of Alicent. In this way, both the families remain united and stand firm for the future. This will also enable them to put their differences behind themselves. To seal the deal, she offers to choose Amond the Dragon Egg.

As Rainyara speaks, her breasts leak and her stature becomes weak. Alicent smiles softly and finally leaves the council. She believes it is all a ploy and thinks that Rainera's idea is her last ploy to cling to power because she is weak and needs her family. This is partly true, mostly because Rainera's husband Lenore is indifferent to state affairs, getting drunk and romantically discussing sailing to Stepstone.

Meanwhile, Laina gives birth to her third child... but there's a problem. A complicated birth is bound to result in the loss of the child and its mother. In a scene that is very reminiscent of Episode 1, Damon is put in a difficult position with his wife.

However, Laina understands what is happening and goes to the beach alone, screaming "Dracary" at her dragon and falls to her knees, causing flames to engulf her and the child, killing them both. It becomes Damon is shocked and heartbroken when he sees it.

King's LandingBack, there are several important moves for our characters. Rainera decided to leave the dragon and gostone. She knows that she is undermined when Jacques questions who her father is. Before Rainera leaves, she turns to Lenore and tells her that they need every sword they can gather.

Alicent's plan sees her in the company of Larry Strong. He agrees that Lionel cannot give Viserys unbiased advice, but points out that even Otto would not have been much better. Alicent said he would at least be by her side, cementing their unspoken bond together.

That night, Larry recruits a handful of prisoners from the dungeon, cuts off their tongues, and sends them to Harenhall to burn down the castle. Harvin and Lionel are both inside when this happens.

When Alicent finds out, she is shocked but Larry has his own game he is playing, believing that he will be rewarded for his actions in the future. Picking up a flower, he smells it confidently, while Alicent turns it back to him, terrified.

Episode Review :

It's not hard to compare House of the Dragon with Rings of Power, but this week we get two sparring scenes with very different results on both shows. In Rings of Power we find Mary Sue Galadriel, who can do no wrong, dances and wields swords with terrific swordsmanship but doesn't even sweat, all the while garnering accolades for how amazing she is and for her efforts have been

Meanwhile, the battle event in House of the Dragon is brutal, meaningful and moves the character and plot forward. . It's really shocking how poorly written the prior episodes are in comparison.

What's particularly interesting here is how there are shades of gray instead of obvious black and white motives for all the different characters. It's something that Game of Thrones - and George R.R. Martin's books (which he bothered to finish and at least release) - do exceptionally well and it is conveyed so well in HOTD as well. Is. You can never be sure what all these different characters are planning, and it makes for a pretty compelling watch.

Damon is clearly going to play a big part in all of this and it appears that conflict this season is bubbling up for Alicent VS Rainera with the fate of the realm hanging in the balance. It will be interesting to see where the fate of the conflict turns.

The new actors play their roles well, while maintaining the same tonal balance as before in the series.
